Commission Reviews

Character commissioned and series/video game: Wocky Kitaki - Apollo Justice (Wig)
Timeline (how long your order took to process): Paid first installment Early June, recieved the wig early October (today actually)

Pros: Well first of all she had excellent communication skills, even though apparently she was having computer issues, she still kept me more informed than most commissioners I've previously dealt with. She also allows you to have creative input, which is excellent because it allows you to feel a bit more in control, such as picking out wig colours and specifications etc. Most importantly though is that she's very friendly and a pleasure to deal with! As well as this her work is wonderful, I went to Lizzy because I was worried about commissioning such a...complex...piece, but I could tell from her previous work that she would be able to do a good job with it - and i'm delighted with the finished product! ^_^

Cons: Can't think of any!

Final Grade: A+ Will defo commission from again if I have any more challenging/scary projects! :P

Character commissioned and series/video game: Soi Fong (Bleach) hair extensions

Timeline (how long your order took to process): Paid Jan. 2009, Received Mar. 6, 2009

------------------------------------------------

Character commissioned: Garnet from FF9, wig.

Timeline: I contacted Lizzy in September of 2008, right in the first weekend. Her commissions were closed until November, but I was collecting quotes and did not intend to order until then anyway. I placed the order on November 4th, and received the wig on March 3, 2009.

Pros: VERY thick wig. The hair piece is easy to care for and attach. She included written instructions on how to use and care for each part of the wig. Also wrote on the wig head where to put the pins to hold the wig on! :P It was packaged fabulously, with plenty of room and security.

Cons: None.

Comments: When I asked for something slightly different upon completion of the wig, she did exactly what I'd asked for. She took every one of my preferences and little fiddly obsessive aspects and created an absolutely gorgeous wig with every aspect I asked for. She was a pleasure to communicate with and answered any question I had.

Final Grade: A+

Lamiroir from Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice Wig Only

Timeline: Ordered in mid November; received last week of January

Pros: Lizzy was very professional. I received quick responses on e-mails and lots of updates with pictures on a regular basis. The wig arrived extremely well packaged with instructions on how to take care of my investment. The wig turned out EXACTLY how I wanted.

Cons: None.

Comments: A truly wonderful comissioner--I can't recommend her enough.

Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.) Felicia Wig for Felicia from DarkStalkers

Timeline (how long your order took to process): About 2-3 months

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons. Wow! I can't even begin to list all the awesome things about Lizzy ^_^! Very pleasant, extremely friendly and helpful and kept me up-to-date about the wig and was patient whenever I had questions about things or if I wanted quotes on other possible commissions. She sent me links to the gallery to check up on progress regularly and was excellent with communication. The wig looks PHENOMENAL *^_^*!! I opened the box and literally bounced about, it came very quickly and was packaged well and had instructions on wig care and homemade bath salts (I got pear, I used it already )

Comments: I've made a new friend and I am already in talks with getting a full cosplay from her for the next convention (a cat girl Nuku Nuku cosplay) and potentially others because I've had such a wonderful experience. I highly reccomend Lizzy to anyone looking for a top-knotch cosplay!

Final Grade: A+++++

Character commissioned and series/video game: Link/ Toon Link from the Wind Waker - Wig

Timeline (how long your order took to process): July-Jan (my fault, though, due to late payment! ^^; Actually finished on October!)

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: I've always wanted to commission a wig from Lizzy, since I heard alot of good reviews about her. Since I cannot style a wig for the life of me, I thought it was about time to commission her. Lizzy is extremely friendly and prompt with her emails! She even gave me a couple emails of time periods where she will be unavailable to answer to my emails, which I found very responsible. She kept me through the progress of the wig every step of the way, showing me photos. I was always a picky commissionee, and she gladly toke my critique to improve the wig, and she did so beautifully. When she finished in October, I wasn't able to make the final payment due to the recession. She never rushed me on the final payment, and was very sweet and patient with me when I finally made it sometime in late December. She sent the wig quickly and the packaging was great! She even sent me a nice note about her experience making the wig and how to care for it. She also sent me home-made bath beads, which I cannot wait to try out, haha.

Final Comments: I have alot to learn from her, since she is always patient to her customers, and she is very prompt. Like stated, I am an extremely picky commissionee, but Dizzy Lizzy is someone you should go to to get the job done for your next wig!

EDIT: Received it & she had included a hand-written note and a bag of home-made bath salts! *_* Made the wig smell great, heehee. Wish we could grade higher than an A+!

Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.): Halibel from Bleach (wig, costume, sword)

Timeline (how long your order took to process) From quote to receiving: 8/13-11/09

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: Very professional. Kept me updated every few days, even during her move. Kept me engaged and often asked for my input. She does not make the props, but she opened the bridge to the prop master and he too was very professional and kept me updated often. Prices are very reasonable and secure. Easy to talk to. Got my items and they were securely wrapped and packaged two weeks before my deadline! Also included notes on how to care for my costume and some nifty bath salts as well.

Con: She's closed for commissions until Jan 1!
Final Grade: A+

Character commissioned: Zero Princess Wig (Saga Frontier)
Timeline: January 5 (start) to February 20 (received) - Received first progress pictures on 1/28/08 and finished pictures on 2/2/08

Describe your Experience.

I absolutely love Lizzy! I went into the commission knowing that she has a great reputation when it comes to wig design and was not disappointed. She has a very quick reply time on e-mails and is generally an awesome person to talk to. She is also very patient and accommodating when I was tight on my budget and had to pay in installments.

There were very few reference pictures for my character, but the finished ("Handlebar Wig" as Lizzy would say) product sent to me was absolutely beautiful and well worth the cost! I also adore the bath salts and the handwritten note of thanks I received. She even went through the trouble of making the headpiece out of tiny beads!

However, what truly made me a fan was that she was extremely open to suggestions (though I am afraid that I didn't really have too much) and warned me ahead of time of other things she was having trouble with. She said that she was not happy with the thickness of the wig, so I was worried about how thin it was going to end up. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it came together. (Nothing to worry about from this angle, Lizzy!)

Pros: Everything. After this, I'm not sure if I could ever go to a different commissioner for wigs...

Cons: None whatsoever.

Grade: A+. I contacted her as a commissioner, but by the end of the commission, I felt like I had made a friend. Sharky!

Character commissioned: Franziska von Karma (wig)

Timeline (how long your order took to process): Contacted in Jan/Feb, got it last week

Pros: Great communication (if anything MY communication was bad XD ), provided me with progress shots, wig arrived safely and well packaged. Looks great, and I love the coloring.

Cons: none

Comments: Hope to work with her again.

Final Grade:A+

Character commissioned and series: Lavi [D.Gray-man], Jacket, cross, the scarf, leg holster and headband.

Timeline: Approximately February? through March 30th? I know it didn't take very long... I'll have to check through my emails soon...

Pros: To start off, I'd like to say that this was the most professional commissioner I have ever worked with. She, from the beginning, sent me emails about important things and sent me her information including a phone number to get a hold of her with. I love her fabric choice. She kept up every week with a progress shot or two and emailed me with every detail and double checked my sizes to make sure some things weren't off. The price was very fair. She also hand wrote a letter to me telling me exactly how to wash the costume.

Cons: None.

Overall experience: A. Will be contacting again soon to see about another commission.

Yoruichi- Cursed Form-- Haltertop w/ butterfly on chest, leg warmers, and arm warmers.

Time: about 2 months, maby a little less.

~DizzyLizzy was an awesome commissioner! she was the first person who has ever commissioned a costume for me, and i must say it was an awesome first experiance!

Pros: She was very promt with her updates and her pictures were always good quality. When she would send me and update she would give discriptions about what she had done so far and what she was still planning to do so that i was with her every stpe of the way. I made a mistake on my sizing and she was very flexable and understanding and made the quick fix! Very thuro with making sure the costume was the way i wanted it, and changed nothing unless i asked.

Cons: Leg warmers were a little short for my liking, and the waistband was sewn backwards (EDIT BY LIZZY- Waistband not sewn backwards. Let the costume know how it is put on.)nothing i couldnt easily fix myself with a little adjusment

~Great and easy commissioner to work with-- HIGHLY recommended

Character commissioned and series/video game Glenda from Petite Princess Yucie Wig

Timeline (how long your order took to process) Commissioned March 11, 2008 received July 2, 2008

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments. I can't really explain how awesome Lizzy is. There have been many reviews that just glow about her and I guess I have to add to all the compliments. ^.^ She kept in contact with me through the whole process, asking for my input on color and styling. She sent progress pictures up to the very end. I can't think of a commissioner I have dealt with that was this detailed with a transaction. Even though it seems she is very busy with other commissions she never hesitated to reply to any and every question I had within the day the email was sent out. The wig itself is beautiful and very well made. I can't wait to wear this to my conventions. Thanks Lizzy!

Final Grade: A+ (You deserve higher but alas there are no letters above A ^.^)

Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.): The Preventer Jacket (and pants) from Gundam Wing for my Duo Maxwell cosplay.

Timeline (how long your order took to process): I initially contacted her at the first of January. I gave her a deadline of June 15th, but she finished earlier than expected! She started around mid/late March and I had it in my possession by May 21st.

Describe your Experience.

Pros: I could not have asked for a nicer, more understanding commissioner! Lizzy is super friendly and is very understanding and cooperative with what the cosplayer wants. Her communication was great! Once she started on the jacket, she continued to update me throughout its progress, taking several photos at each step along the way. She asked a lot of questions and always responded to me in a timely fashion.

I was VERY satisfied with the jacket when I received it! It fit perfectly! It was the right length and everything for what I needed!

I also thought her price was very fair, as it included materials, labor, and shipping.

Cons: The only con is that one detail of the jacket is off, but I didn't fuss over it much since I could understand how she could have seen the detail differently based on the reference photos.

Comments: After I received the jacket, I had trouble finding pants to match the blue material she used for it. I looked for a few weeks and came up empty handed, so I asked her if she had time to make matching pants. It was a long shot, but she managed to squeeze me in between her other commissions and made me pants to match! This was not at all in our original agreement when I commissioned her for the jacket, so I was extremely grateful that she took the time to make matching pants for me on such short notice! ^____^!!!

Final Grade: A+++++++!! I would commission Lizzy again anytime!

Character:Cirucci Thunderwitch (wig and hollow mask clip-on)

Timeline: I asked her for the commission around end of june/ beginning of july. She was stacked up with a ton of other comissiones, but somehow was able to get the wig to at the beginning of august! so no more than a month! i was VERY happy!!
Experience: I have worked with Lizzy before on a costume of yoruichi and was extremly pleased with it! (its a con favorite XD) So when i decided that i needed a customized wig for a great price and excellent stylist, i called on Lizzy~

She has alway been very good with communication~ letting me know when she ordered the wig, when it arrived, and then plenty of progress shots to make sure that she was doing what i had asked, and she went above and beyond! The wig came with a hand written note as well as apple scented bath salt and instructions on how to care for my new wig! Great job Lizzy~<3

Thank you Lizzy! i hope to commission from you soon~
Grade: A+++++++

Character commissioned: Juri Arisugawa of Revolutionary Girl Utena and Xemnas of Kingdom Hearts II

Timeline: The double commission was kind of accidental. I sent the request and payment for Juri in early January, then about 20 days later added Xemnas on top of the order. They arrived together in early July.

Describe your Experience.
Pros: As far as the overall customer/seller experience, she has perfection down to a science. There were constant updates--I never didn't know what was going on. She always consulted me before making a aesthetic changes to make sure I got the look I wanted, regardless of what she actually thought might be better in some cases . She has a magic way of truly involving the customer. When you receive your pristine wig in the mail, you already know it in and out--you've been with it since it was a little base wig, know what went into molding it and how to handle it. It's the color you wanted with the little details and requests you'd hoped for, because she made double sure you were getting exactly what you invested in.
Considering the products themselves, I don't think I could be happier. She handled Juri in a rather unconventional way--I've never seen another cosplayer with this manner of solution to her style, and I adore it. Similarly, I have never seen a better wig. It actually belongs to my brother, the cosplayer, and I am hopelessly envious that he has the best Xemnas wig I have ever seen.
Cons: The only curiosity I had was actually with the Xemnas wig. In the first two shots you view it from the right side, and it looks stunning. In the frontal shots, however, you can see that the left is...quite different. The two front spikes overlap each other, completely blocking his left eye and meshing together almost as one in every picture from the front. They are styled in the same way as the right side, but the backmost side just won't behave. If I'd had more time I would've tried maybe a combination of water and spray to try and tame it into place--I'm pretty sure it was just an effect of the summer heat and shipping. A risk I chose to take by having it sent in July, so not something I'd hold her accountable for.

Comments: If you're looking for the single greatest customer/commissioner experience you will ever receive, go no further. She not only wants to help you get a great, accurate and stunning look, but wants to be your friend. Normally this level of interaction is discouraged in business situations--or wherever an exchange of money occurs--but there was never a question here of regretting such. She is extremely accommodating and friendly, while simultaneously professional--no awkwardness if you make a mention of something you'd like to do differently than she intended, and that sort of comfort really is rare in a commissioning experience.

Final Grade: A+, a million times, A+. If you've got an intimidating wig project you're worried about trusting to someone else and yet can't manage yourself, this is who you have got to go to.
